Science of visual cue cards
These cue cards can be used in the following ways:
On-the-go redirection: Laminate and put the small or medium size on a ring for your lanyard.
Display expectations: Display the large size around the room as relevant behavioral labels. For example, display, "sit on carpet" in front of the rug area. Point to this visual to redirect students without verbally interrupting instruction.
Private displays of expectations: For students who struggle with meeting particular expectations, print and tape/laminate relevant expectations to their desk or name tag. For example, a student who is off-task often could have the "work" visual on their desk. When you circulate the room, you can provide a personal but silent redirection to them by pointing to this cue card.
